Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis, Jr., are currently touring with their 40th Anniversary Celebration show, which celebrates the couples 40-year career in show business and 40-years of marriage. It is a musical tribute to the hits and productions that have made up their multifaceted careers and includes various flavors of R&B, Gospel, Jazz and Pop. Their melodic, uplifting sound in a variety of styles, appeals to a wide audience.

The charismatic duo, whose instantly recognizable voices helped to make The 5th Dimension one of the pop era’s most revered vocal groups, sound better than ever. As the predominant lead singers for the group, they represent to the world some of the finest music laid down in the last forty years.

The show will include plenty of hits from The 5th Dimension such as “Never My Love,” “Stone Soul Picnic,” “Up, Up & Away,” “Aquarius/Let The Sun Shine In,” “Wedding Bell Blues” and “One Last Bell to Answer.”

McCoo and Davis left The 5th Dimension after a decade and established themselves as a duo. They had immediate success with the single “You Don’t Have To Be A Star (To Be In My Show).” It was a #1 hit and earned them two Grammys.

The show is constructed as a peek into their lives, separate and together and showcases other sides of their musical personalities. In addition to their 5th Dimension successes, the show highlights their solo pursuits: Billy – soul, gospel, Broadway and Dreamgirls; Marilyn – “Solid Gold” TV show, Broadway and Showboat.

They pay their respects in song to Ashford & Simpson, Laura Nyro, Burt Bacharach & Hal David, Jimmy Webb, Alan & Marilyn Bergman, Duke Ellington and Billy Preston, just some of the songwriters that have been elemental to their careers.

“We have learned that our music is a mutual experience that we have been fortunate to share. We are gratified by the audience recognition and participation as they are reminded of a possibly kinder, gentler time,” Davis says.
